    OPERATION OF FLUID BED DRYER
    Fluid Bed Dryers are most widely used for drying pharmaceutical powders and granulation. In FBD there is direct contact between particle and any type of inert air/gas. The fluid bed drying operates under the principle of direct drying where direct contact between a heated gas/air and the product occur to effect heat and mass transfer. The hot air/gas used for drying can be generated by either steam coils or a incineration furnace. The holes in the perforated plate are covered with caps that prevent material from entering the plenum when the dryer is not in operation. The fan prepared in the upper part of the machinery induces fluidizing air stream. Fluid bed dryers can endure extremely high temperatures, providing the potential for calcimine. The width of dryer ranges from 12 to 57 inches and length ranges from 10 to 50 feet. The bed depth is about 3 inches. Dryer capacity is dependent only on retention time produced by speed of assigning, which generally ranges from 5 to 25 feet per minute.

    Features of Fluid Bed Dryer

     
    • Fluid Bed Dryer follow the regulations of camp, PIC/S GMP, FDA
    • Multi-purposes: One machine can perform multiple functions, Drying, Granulation, Powder Covering, tablet Film Covering, tablet Enteric Covering
    • High drying efficiency: YENCHEN’s FBDD is 10 ~ 20 times faster than conventional drying oven
    •Temperature control can be controlled from room temperature to 100℃, law
    • temperature drying at 35-40℃ and an optional dehumidifier can be installed for thermo-sensitive product like probiotic
    • The inlet air is filtered by a final-filter to secure the cleanness of the inlet air
    • Touch Screen Interface control system: All the parameters can be memorable, multilevel of passwords can be set, connect to the diagrams printing are optional available
    • Two sets of valves are interacting automatically to suspend the granules continuously

    Application of Fluid Bed Dryer
    The fluid bed drying system is ideal for the hasty, even drying of chemical, pharmaceutical and food product. The material may be in granular, powder or crystalline form. Normally an initial moisture content up to 20% is ideal but materials with higher initial moisture content can be dried successfully.
